Have you ever wondered what would happen if Saluki great Jamaal Tatum went head-to-head with a current star like Kevin Dillard? What about Tony Young versus Ryan Hare? Or do you ever wonder if former Salukis still have game?
Well, those lucky enough to stay around after Tatum’s basketball clinic got these questions answered. Several of the former Salukis who were helping out with the clinic suited up for a pickup game against the current squad of Salukis.

In the midst of an
other injury-plagued season, Christian Cornelius decided that he would quit the SIU men's basketball team because he felt like his injury was too severe to deal with on an everyday basis. When he went to talk to Coach Chris Lowery about his decision, Lowery was not in his office and he decided that he would just leave the coach a voicemail, so that Lowery could get back to him. Since then, rumors have spread about Cornelius’ decision and how he handled quitting the team. We decided to clear up those rumors by talking to the former Saluki. Here’s what he said to us: Cornelius Story

Former Saluki and current New York Giant Brandon Jacobs hasn't forgotten his roots.

With the announcement of the signing of John Freeman, a 6-5 JUCO transfer who's drawing comparisons to former Saluki Lamar Owen, we figured we'd check up on Owen who was a fan favorite at SIU. Owen was known for his high energy style of play and athletic ability. We found this clip of Owen, who's now playing with the Kentucky Bisons of the ABA, and thought we'd edit it a bit and share with SalukiNation. I hope you enjoy! It's one of the best dunk's I've ever seen. Period.

For the second straight year, Saluki legend Jamaal Tatum
will be returning to Carbondale to put on his "Jamaal Tatum Pro Basketball Camp." Last year, over 100 youth from the area attended the camp where they received hands on instruction from Tatum and other current and former Saluki players and coaches.
"I just enjoy getting back to Carbondale, which I consider my second home, and doing something exciting for the community," Tatum said.
This year, the camp will be held on May 2nd at the SIU Student Rec Center. Tatum will be joined at this year's camp by Luke Jackson (First Round NBA Draft Pick), Rod Benson (NBDL All-Star), Brent Petway (NBDL Slam Dunk Champ), Gerry McNamara (Syracuse), Stetson Hairston (SIU Sweet Sixteen Team), Bryan Turner (SIU), Mildon Ambres (Idaho Stampede) and more.
"This year I'm bringing in more guests than I have the past 2 years," Tatum said. "It's going to be great experience for everyone involved in it."
The camp is open to girls and boys who are 18 and under. Registration for the camp is $50 and all proceeds will benefit Tatum's Y.O.U. Organization, which helps give opportunities to underpriviledged youth.
All kids that attend the camp will receive instruction for over two hours, a camp t-shirt, an autographed photo, and the chance to win Saluki memorbilia.
"My goal is to make camp better every year for the kids," Tatum said.
